Stockholm-Arlanda Airport is an international airport about 42 km north of Stockholm and 40 km south-east of Uppsala. Stockholm-Arlanda is Stockholm's main airport and Sweden's largest airport with a capacity of 25 million passengers per year. Stockholm-Arlanda is the main base for SAS (Scandinavian Airlines System).
The airport's management is especially proud of how snow removal operations are performed: they are the best in the removal of snow from runways.

Stockholm-Arlanda Terminal

The airport has 4 terminals (that is 64 gates in all), connected by covered passageways. This means that you don't have to leave the airport to move from one terminal to another. Terminals 4 and 5 are connected by Sky City, a shopping area that can be reached by train.

Terminal 2 (Arlanda South) hosts domestic and international flights. The following are amongst the main airline companies present at Terminal 2: Air Berlin, British Airways, Germanwings, Iberia, Iceland Express, NIKI, Norwegian, TAP Portugal and TUIfly.

Nextjet and Skyways' domestic flights depart from Terminal 3 (Arlanda South). Terminal 4 (Arlanda South) is dedicated to domestic flights as well: Norwegian, SAS and Sterling depart from this terminal.

Terminal 5 (Arlanda North) is for international flights only with companies such as Air France, Austrian Airlines, CSA, Delta Airlines, KLM, LOT, Lufthansa, Malmö Aviation, Norwegian, SAS, Sterling and many others, also charters.
At Stockholm-Arlanda there are 5 terminals for cargo flights too.

How to reach the centre of Stockholm

Stockholm-Arlanda airport is connected to the city centre through the high-speed train Arlanda Express, which leaves every 20 minutes for Stockholm Central Station.

Airport coaches (Flygbussarna) provide shuttle services to the centre of Stockholm as well as to the city's northern area. You can also ride a Flygbussarna to Stockholm-Bromma airport and Stockholm Skavsta airport.
The cheapest way to reach the airport or the centre of Stockholm is taking bus 583 until Märsta station and then a local train to Stockholm Central Station (it takes 60 minutes in all).

Inside the airport several services are at the travellers' disposal: shops, restaurants, hotels, banks, business facilities, a pharmacy and a chapel. Parking spaces are located near the terminals, but there are also long and short term parking lots.
