Rome Fiumicino "Leonardo da Vinci" international airport is Italy's principal civil airport, and the one that serves most passengers (nearly 33 million in 2007).

The airport has 4 terminals: Terminals A and AA for domestic flights, Terminal B for domestic and international flights (Schengen countries), and Terminal C for international flights (non-Schengen countries). Terminal 5 is due to open in May 2008, and will cater for passengers travelling to countries requiring particularly stringent anti-terrorist security checks. Terminal 5 will also be used to reduce Terminal C's peak loads.

The airport provides the following services: information desks, post offices, bureaux de change, banks, cashpoints and currency exchange machines, chemists, special assistance rooms, left luggage facilities and an Executive Centre for meetings and conferences.
