Naples Capodichino international airport is the largest airport in southern Italy, second to Catania Fontanarossa for total number of passengers served and the first in Italy to have been privatised. There are two terminals, one of which caters for charter flights.

Naples Capodichino airport is 6 km from the city centre, in the suburb of the same name. It is easily reached from the Naples Tangenziale (Naples bypass), which passes through all the main suburbs of the city. This road leads to the 4 motorways connecting Naples to the rest of the province and Campania region and also to the Circumvallazione Esterna and Asse Mediano (main ring roads) of Naples.

Naples airport is connected to the city centre by the ANM Bus service and Alibus shuttle, which follows the airport-Central railway station-Piazza Municipio (port) route. The number 35 service follows the Airport-Central railway station-Brin Car Park route. Capodichino airport has 6 car parks with 1249 places in all. The P3 car park is underground and has direct access to the terminal.

Inside the airport the following public facilities are available: bureau de change, bank, post office, cashpoints, left luggage facilities, lost luggage office, disabled traveller assistance, shops, bars and restaurants and wi-fi internet access areas.

On the ground floor, in Arrivals, there is an agency for organised tours, cruises, holiday villages, and airline, train and boat tickets. This agency opens from 9.00 to 20.30. There is also a City Sightseeing service, an Info Desk which opens from Thursday to Sunday, providing information on open double-decker bus tours and multi-lingual audioguides. Flight information (arrivals, departures, domestic and international connections) and tourist information (tours, road, rail and sea links) is available from 5.30 to 11.30 at Customer Service, on the ground floor of the Arrivals lounge.
