The London Gatwick Airport, with approximately 34 million passengers per year, is the second busiest airport in London in terms of traffic (after Heathrow). It is located 46 km south of London, 40 km north of Brighton.
At the moment it has only one active runway (there is a second runway that is used when the second runway is being maintained), which is used by approximately 90 airline companies that fly to 200 destinations worldwide: in fact, the flight controllers at Gatwick manage to perform an optimum management of air traffic. The two terminals are connected by an automatic transport system, which is free of charge, leaving every 6 minutes (every 3 minutes during peak times).
