Malmö Aviation, founded in 1981, was sold to City Air Scandinavia in 1992 as Malmö Aviation Schedule and only becomes independent within the airline market in 1991 with a sole owner, the Braathens Aviation company, based in Stockholm, which was planning to focus its activity on internal Swedish routes. In 2007 Malmö Aviation won the best internal airline prize for the 7th time.
