Air Italy was founded at the beginning of 2005, with headquarters in Gallarate (Varese). Its fleet consists of 9 airplanes, in 2006 they managed (after only 19 months of activity) to close the year with a balance sheet showing profit which included the transport of over 400 000 passengers. Usually its international flights leave from Milan Malpensa, whilst national flights operate from Verona.

Air Italy is one of the most important suppliers for Italian Tour Operators: it supports operators especially in summer, even with international routes from Verona. Thanks to alliances and new strategies of route expansion, Air Italy is also able to fly to Antananarivo, Fortaleza, Mauritius, Nosy Be and Madagascar.
