Airline tickets with Emirates

Emirates are known for having one of the worlds most generous baggage policies. Please note however that allowances vary depending on class of travel and subscribed membership tier.
HAND LUGGAGE

The passenger cabin baggage allowance depends on which service class has been booked. If flying First Class or Business Class you are permitted two pieces of carry-on luggage: one handbag plus either one briefcase or garment bag. The briefcase cannot exceed 45 x 35 x 20cm; the handbag cannot exceed 55 x 38 x 20cm; the garment bag can be no more than 20cm thick when folded. Each piece of baggage must not exceed 7kg in weight.

Economy Class customers are allowed one piece of carry-on baggage, either a handbag or laptop bag, that must not exceed the above mentioned dimensions and weight.

If you are travelling to India however the size of the carry-on baggage must not exceed 115cm (length + width + height).

As with many scheduled airlines, duty free products purchased at the airport, such as liquor, cigarettes and perfume can be admitted, obviously within reason obviously. Be careful however as liquid restrictions in effect in some airports may prevent you from getting the items past security screening points.

CHECKED LUGGAGE

Again the allowance for checked luggage with Emirates can vary depending on travel class purchased, destination, and flight ticket.

Economy Class customers can check in a maximum of 30kg, Business Class travellers area allowed 40kg and if you are flying First Class you have a maximum checked luggage total of 50kg. Note however, that these weights do not apply to itineraries involving North or South America. Should your itinerary include flights operated by another airline, note that different baggage rules may apply so be sure to check this information before departure.
